Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the placement of small sterile needles in specific points on the body to achieve a desired physiologic effect.  It is a means to help the body heal itself by affecting the central nervous system, increasing circulation, relieving muscle spasm, and causing the release of hormones called endorphins which are the bodies’ natural pain killers.   Acupuncture can be used for many conditions including musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders.  In veterinary rehabilitation acupuncture is used for it’s analgesic and nerve stimulating properties for such conditions as osteoarthritis, muscle spasms, trigger points and nerve damage.
